Seems like yesterday when we sang in that old church choir
Spirits full of love and joy and our hearts were so on fire
Then he walked into our lives, that old wicked liar
Speaking to our spirits, he stole our Godly desires

We no longer sing, praises to His holy name
Turning our backs on Jesus, our spirits are full of shame
Running from God's promises, that we had every right to claim
Now confessing only doubt, no more truths to proclaim
