Tommie Freke (Leiden, 1966) is a theatremusic composer. In his last year of is Jazz Improvisation Study at the Sweelinck Coservatory in A'dam he started working with the legendary Theatregroup Dogtroep from Amsterdam. After his graduation his focus developed to composing and playing theatre music.

From 1996 tot 2003 he worked on a large number of theatre productions for Dogtroep as composer and musician. Besides that he worked with different theatre groups as a musician an soudscapes composer. He tought himself music production in his own homestudio.

With Salt his theatre an worldmusic ensemble he toured Europe in the past 12 years. A highlight of Festivals he played: Edinburgh Theatrefestival, National Theatre Londen, Oerol Festival, North Sea Jazzfestival.

The musical range in which Tommy works is broad and incorporates a number of disciplines: Besides being an musician, composer and arranger he also works as a bandleader, conductor, workshopleader, teacher, music coach, music instruments inventor and music installation builder.

In recent years Tommie played with Gallowstreet. 12 guys that love Brass music. They play a mix of Urban Beats, Hiphop, Dance and Jazz music. Check out (expired link)
