Good Music
In some ways, music is a lot like literature. It can be pleasing, enlightening, even life-changing. A great song, like a great book, affects the listener in unanticipated ways and resonates long after the music has ceased. And, if done well, both music and literature have a rhythm and tone unique to their authors; you wouldn't confuse a passage from a Charles Dickens novel with one fromaHarry Potterbook, nor would you mistake a verse from "A Hard Day's Night" for one from a Lady Gaga song. But how do you describe your favorite song? How do you put its melody into words or explain the beauty of its chords? How do you begin to describe the emotions that it provokes in you?As the maxim goes, "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture." In other words, despite the similarities between literature and music, conveying sound through text is a challenge, even for the most talented of writers.

Sleepless, lonely Laura Marling paints a bleak picture: Women go crazy, her neighbors beg for help through the walls and she hears animals dying — it's like a folk-rock Walking Dead, right down to the chilling strings that swell around the song. By the time she reaches the final verse, she asks, "Is it still okay that I don’t know how to be at all?" But even if the world is crashing down around her, Marling can at least take some comfort in the fact that she has the sweetest singing voice in the whole apocalypse.Sleepless, lonely Laura Marling paints a bleak picture: Women go crazy, her neighbors beg for help through the walls and she hears animals dying — it's like a folk-rock Walking Dead, right down to the chilling strings that swell around the song. Thoughts on "We Rise"...
This song starts with a voice announcing the song's beginning... I couldn't understand the words?- but I could feel the passion and excitement in the vocals. The funky rhythm is easy to follow and makes you want to move with the music. A really nice groove to follow... The vocals are pleasant, and the words are fun to follow. The drums are the heart of this song, and the voices singing in unison are a great contrast to the soft lead vocals... the words "the Holy Ghost fire" - were cut off at the end, which left me thinking this song has much more music that seems to be missing. I think a short solo from the keys, or another instrument like the flute, or acoustic guitar would have added to this song's sound. Overall, I love the Reggae sound/rhythm but would have loved to hear the entire song to the conclusion. The arrangement/words/music are fantastic. This song is fun to listen to, and joyful in it's presentation. It left me wanting more - that both good and bad. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful song - I would love to hear the song in it's entirety. In Christ/Michael

We Rise...
Very colorful reggae song with a cool introduction. Great affirmation for a life already on the rise in faith in Christ. Superb composition of multi-layered instrumental. It seems to be both a faith song and a praise song. Interesting to hear one with a reggae beat. I loved it. Very ambitious! I love the brass best, percussion is excellent. Was that oboe or clarinet in the mix? I hope to hear more like this one from your band. Please put the full version up soon!

we rise review
Nice clean cover of Marley of ride natty ride. Horn programming is accurate and the tempo is right. the recording is also clean. The recording has limited slap. The side snr is weak as it should hit harder. Everything in my opinion could hit harder. it sounds like a karioki beat with good vocals. it ends randomly or maybe wrong file is uploaded. Not sure what is 'spiritual' about this track having just taken Marley's song and plugged his own name in to the chorus... In any case it's a decent track.
