About Ton Schatz
Ton Schatz's first album, named Before It Is Too Late, was released in 2003. His second album, Hiatus, will be available for streaming on Feb 11, 2022. His influences are in his music library, filled with rock, hard rock, 80's brazilian rock, 60&70's Brazilian MPB, folk, indie and alternative rock.
The recordings have been solo projects: writing, performing, engineering and mixing. Each step bringing its own reward and fulfillment, as the concepts that inspired the songs take shape and form. The recordings are acoustic: vocals, guitars and, at times, acoustic bass. Each song chooses its own language. Most are in english although some are in Brazilian portuguese.
Listeners have described his music as indie, folkie, kind-of-pop-but-not-really, and some even as jazzy-but-not-really. It ultimately lies in the ears of the beholder.
