Tony Beyond grew up in Cleveland where music was the pinnacle of culture and if you knew how to make it, you were somebody. At the age of 7 Tony began free styling feeling inspired by Lil Wayne and Bow Wow he studied the greats like Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, KRS-One, Nas, Jay-Z and T.I. At age 12 Tony decided to take music seriously by starting a rhyme book and committing as many lyrics to songs as he could. At 14 he recorded his first song “Make You Mine” with his older cousin and brother: Young B. and Chill The Fanatic this led him to record a few more and burning them to a CD dubbing it a mixtape titled ‘Uprising’. This tape is a lost file to this day but that didn’t stop him because a few years later he released an official mixtape online called ‘Music Game Takeover’ this is where he concretely established his sound and brand as the dream-like, slightly hazy, smooth almost whispery tone with occasional excitement and high energy. Clever wordplay, interesting story telling and eccentric flow would cause Tony to stand out. Releasing his next project ‘Danger Close: B.E. Genius’ only a year later, Tony set himself up as an album artist right from the gate. He founded the Beyond Earth Entertainment label (hence “B.E.”) and immediately released a compilation of songs with his label mates the very next year on the ‘A Place Beyond Earth’ mixtape also on Datpiff. This featured several different artists with their own flavor with a hidden concept within the project. He followed this project up with another compilation called ‘Earthly Endeavors’ showcasing more of the talent in the camp. Ever since he has focused more on his solo career releasing his debut studio album ‘Retsam Enot’ and other fairly solid bodies of work on SoundCloud such as ‘Master Tone’ (1 & 2) and Danger Close 2: Nuclear. Tony Beyond has released innumerable amounts of music it is difficult to keep up with it all but when you catch wind of a few it will stick with you for years to come.
