So... Here it is. (This could be a long post, so grab some coffee, hehe.) A few weeks ago, I got some supposed "fan-mail" from my account on N1M music. (I have about 2,450 fans...yay.) Landmark Events is a huge promotional company, most, if not all their shows, have to go through an application process. Instead, they just up and invited me... I mean, wow. Now, there are about 25 other different Edmonton acts, most invited or approved by their online presence.... And, it's also a competition. First place gets a professional recording contract. Places 2-5 get recording time, press kits, and possibly touring dates. But even if I don't pull off a huge upset, there will be over a dozen promoters, publishers, and producers checking every single act out. And apparently, I've already attracted the attention of an Indie producer in Calgary. I'll be playing Saturday night, November 28th (Time undetermined) at the Mercury Room in Edmonton. I've been given 100 tickets to sell to friends and family ($14 each) And (Yep, here comes the little ponzi scheme, but hey, every little bit helps.) The more tickets I sell, physical or Online (I'll get to that in a bit) the better my chance to get a fantastic time slot, when most people will be there, making the VIDEO better. When I mention Online sales, this means, and this is the very cool part... People who want to stream this event, which will also be broadcast live via internet, around the World. It does kinda suck, that we have to pay for the online code, but Europe, Australia and Asia doesn't. tongue emoticon But this is incredible, incredible exposure and, in my case, the shot I've been waiting for, for about the last 25 years. I'll post more details as we go along, but I've got a huge workload ahead of me, tickets to sell, and posts to make. This is seriously my biggest (possible) break... ever.
