TrePeso / About TREPESO DA GREENLANTERN is the emerging artists from BOUND BY HONOR Music Group. His interests are in rapping, writing, & performing. He was raised by a strong yet single mother with 2 sisters & 1 brother. He was born in Dallas Texas but raised in California until he moved with his mother and siblings back to Texas at the age of 10 years old. He states ”The street was my father & it showed me how to survive. I had a group of friends where we showed each other the ropes. With me being the oldest out of my siblings; I sometimes had to help my mom make ends meet with bills. Sometimes that meant me missing schools days at a time because I knew my mother needed help with the lights or phone bill. Nothing came easy.” He goes on to state “ So all my life I knew I would make my own money. (It’s just a mind frame that I have by growing up in that way of life). Seeing duffle bags full of money, ice, fast cars, & bikes on a daily basis in my eyes was the way of life.” He always hung around the older crowd because he felt they would be able to teach him the ropes on the streets. He took what he learned at the time and did not look back. He used to participate in gang activity until he made a choice at the age of 18 years old that instead of banging he would rather get paid as a rap artist. Trespeso Da Greenlantern says he then sat back & mapped out what he would need to do to get money in the music industry. He learned from all of his ups & downs & from all of the struggles within his young life. His music entails a motivational & entertaining sound which may have rooted from trials such as him getting incarcerated, “ that was the downest time in my life” he says. “Being away from my family & love ones made me feel in last place. I knew I had to take advantage of all the reading materials & classes the prison offered me while there. I now have bigger & better goals in life.” Instead of investing money into other peoples projects that wasn’t being genuine towards him getting his proper returns he stepped up & starting writing & presenting his own ideas. He’s expressed that he’s had a lot on his mind & he can release it by rapping. “ I just tell the truth about it all in my life & I didn’t have to sit & make up anything. It all came out like running water. I have a family, 3 children & their mother & they are all fans of mine. I love them so much. I believe in God & I pray & put all of my faith in him, then I believe in my heart all is well with my soul”. Trepeso has been in the music business for 11 years but was always behind the scenes which enlightened him upon various avenues to use and sharpened his integrity to do what he knows is right for him in the business that he has worked & grown so much in.
