The Sunny Wine Session, the new T-Roosters' job, is a dark blues potion cooked in the spring sun, with a bottle of wine always available, the texts scattered on the table and the guitars among the skilled hands of Tiziano Galli, but with feet ideally immersed in the waters of the Mississippi Bayou, where fat alligators doze waiting for the right moment to look for prey. The thirteen songs of the Cd, all composed by Tiziano Galli and Paolo Cagnoni, tell current stories as is typical of the blues, and tell of past loves and of an increasingly confused world, but also of hopes and dreams that never die. Echoes of swamp, intense forays into the New Orleans land and in the Golden Age of Chicago are filtered by the originality of writing, which characterizes the path of a band grown over the years to develop a personal and immediately recognizable language. The voice of Tiziano Galli, dark and spicy, perfectly emphasizes the "black" color of this work, well supported by the imaginative and never intrusive guitar, by a rhythmic centered and deep base thanks to the extraordinary experience of bassist Lillo Rogati - a life spent on the roads of blues - and by the enthusiastic energy of drummer Giancarlo Cova. To innervate the whole, the round harmonica of Marcus Tondo that emphasizes the riffs and alternates to the solos with the guitar in a balance of sounds and colors typical of this Milanese group. The blues is music of suggestions, of emotions, and The Sunny Wine Session wants to be just that: a timeless blues record, with the heart in the past, the soul in the present and an eye to the future. Stories of black snakes hidden under the bed that aim to steal souls and loves, tales of "sacred nights" as in the end they are every night when devils twitch and people live, rejoice and suffer; passages in which the today's society is told with its confused pain, but also through the extraordinary courage of a humanity that never gives up and seeks its redemption every day. And reflections on feelings, on lost or present love stories, on the anxiety of those moments when no place seems to be our land. The Sunny Wine Session contains all this and much more, in an intimate and shared journey that involves and excites note after note on the streets of the blues, paved with lights and shadows and without borders. Because in the end it's all about this: "swallowing sounds and sensations and then playing our burning blues".
