About Tyler Sanford
Tyler Sanford is a singer-songwriter representing Plymouth County, MA. His music can best be described as folk with elements of rock and pop sprinkled throughout.
As someone who prides himself a storyteller, Tyler often pens illustrative lyrics that are reflective in nature: this includes introspection as well as commentaries on society and, occasionally, politics. Hopeless, depression and cynicism are common themes that can be found throughout his work.
Tyler’s journey as a recording artist began in 2004 after being inspired by a multitude of classic rock songs that frequently aired on the now defunct KIEF-LP radio station, otherwise known as The Rocket. The majority of his recordings have been inspired by Mike Tramp, whom he considers his greatest musical inspiration and the artist most responsible for shaping his overall sound. Other influences include folk artists such as Joan Baez and Carly Simon as well as Heartland Rock artists like Neil Young, Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen.
Throughout his time as an artist, Tyler has had the pleasure of collaborating with many musicians in the South Shore area. In addition to these collaborations, Tyler also helped form the folk rock/alternative rock band Volatile Memories in 2014. The band is currently inactive. However, he hopes to revisit the project in the future.
