Released on Soundcloud, Reverbnation and the artists’ new website, the EP, tells a story of an underrated yet gifted emcee, and is a perfect blend of soulful Hip Hop beats and classic lyricism. WORDZ The Poet Emcee, who has been making a name for himself in the world of independent Hip Hop the past twelve years, is eager to see how Hip Hop heads and fans will take to this new project. “I wanted to create something timeless that shows the difference between an Emcee and a Rapper. Emcees inspire and awaken the masses with their stories and with truth, while many rappers these days push agendas based only around materialism, misogny and glamourized violence. I wanted to show the difference between Hip Hop music and Rap music,“ he says. Often compared to legendary emcees such as Q-Tip and Nas, WORDZ simply sees it as a matter of honoring and building on the tradition and legacy that the icons have established. He comments, “As an artist who has great love, appreciation and devotion for Hip Hop culture, I’m here to keep the art in the music alive.” ‘The Difference’ features production by indie heavyweights Ill Thrillz, Paul Cabbin and Philly’s own Josef K. Mitchell aka SefLove of DAUS and is a much anticipated gift from the artist for those missing the originality in HipHop.The first single from the EP, entitled "Hustle Knock”, available now on SoundCloud, tells the personal narrative of WORDZ’ resilence as an artist and simply as a man living in a world designed for his failure. She lives in the music of independent artists who have not sold out to the mainstream.
