Alan married a sociopath. They weren't getting along. One day, Alan came home from work, and his sociopath had painted the stairwell up to his recording studio black. At night, Alan couldn't see shit when he went downstairs to get a beer. After she left him, Alan started going through tons of papers trying to get some idea of what had happened. He found an application for a life insurance policy she'd tried to take out on him that was denied. The rest of us think she was doing everything she could think of to collect on his eventual death via tumbling down 'the black stairwell'.

Hi guys. Our latest soundscape/post rock song is at #2 on the experimental charts for Georgia. Navigating The Black Stairwell is a different animal for us, as it actually has a beat. Yes, it's a very repetitive, almost a techno beat, but it's a beat. I added a very old seering guitar track played by Jeff McLeod to add some punch, and I think it added just what the song needed. We hope you agree and enjoy it. For additional songs, you can go to our Bandcamp page and listen to a lot more. Check out Machine Malaise Parts 1 & 2, a very abstract track created almost entirely from guitars.

Hi, fellow abstractionists! Just a quick note to tell you about some new pieces we're currently working on that will be an expansion of our latest EP Quantum Fireflies. The compositions will follow the same blueprint, utilizing synth and guitar tracks played by Steve Thomas ((expired link)) of Xvektor and The Steve Thomas Wormhole. Well, Xvektor abstractionists, two of our latest songs attained Number One status over the last two weeks. DRONESURGE Edit and A Little Time. Sure, this is only for the state of Georgia, but we're pleased that in a state with a lot of rappers masquerading as 'experimental' artists, people chose to listen to 'actual' experimental (expired link) you all for liking us.

As a side project, Steve Thomas, one of our guitarists, decided that he wanted a project he had more input on, so The Steve Thomas Wormhole was born. It's very Xvektor-ish, as we both are in Xvektor. But Steve's first song isn't just cool, it's funny. I can't get through the first part without getting the giggles. Check it out, and let us know what you think:

The song is called Three Faces, and it's some sweet guitars from Steve Thomas, some bass throbs from Jeff McLeod, and some gene splicing from yours truly. Hello, lovers of abstract sound collages! We're excited and honored that you 'get' what we're doing here. That puts you in a small minority, believe us! Xvektor has been an entity for about 20 years now, and we've taken a break due to miles between our members, equipment failure, and a general need to explore our other creative ventures. Me (Alan) am an artist and Graphic Designer, Steve is a programmer, Robbie a systems engineer, Zozimo and Adrianne Rech are astronomers, David Briggs is a chemist, and Jeff, we have no idea what Jeff is even up to right now. Something wickedly cool, we imagine.

As we only have 3 songs allowed, unless we want to get a paid subscription, which is not necessary as we have multiple sites (check out our full site on Bandcamp), we'll be rotating songs here on our playlist as songs reach a peak and start sliding downward.
