Composer Guitarist Musician Recording Artist VocalistYar Charles started his music career at the age of 12, when he picked up his first guitar made of plastic , with nylon strings , he wrote his first song at the age of 15, he met miss Laura when she was 15 , he was 18 they married and moved to Dallas, Texas in 1980 the goal was to live in Dallas for several years and then to move to La where the music action was. Some Of Ray's early work several jingles for the Cousin Lenny radio show on KKDA , entitled Cousin Lenny Let the good times roll, he also performed in the Southwestern Bell Sickle cell anemia charity for several years providing the sound equipment as well for the contestants, Performed in the Little Anthony review , competitions in the Dallas Ft Worth area , hosted the Jerry Lewis telethon in Jasper Texas, open for Yarborough and Peoples at the Executive club in Dallas, TX , primary guest on a Date line Dallas a local Cable TV show of which several videos are on You Tube showing the performance.
M&M
Recording Artist VocalistM & M is the second member to join the group Fresh, she was asked by then Sugar Ray to form a group the name of the group he had in mind was fresh . Fresh , because of all the new members and the new sound he was wanting to create , the fact that there would be one Guy and three girls made it interesting, because very few groups had that formula M&M was the second lead vocalist of the group and the one with the most powerful female voice ,so Sugar Ray concentrated his efforts on producing the group female sound around her to form the group fresh , M&M had been singing previously in other groups and she also sung in various events in the Waco Texas area, they met while Sugar Ray was the sound man for the group Omega sunrise, and the dj, at the club Asmara Lounge in Dallas ,Texas . They became friends M&M brought her daughter Michelle (Chel'le) which she was in to TLC at the time and wanted no part of what the group was doing but she later join at the ripe age of 16 as background vocalist and thusly M&M the singer was created and was giving the name M&M, designated by Sugar Ray because of her dual personality, and the fact that she was so small and kind hearted but she had a dual personality when talking music so M&M was created (M&M)( Marie and Marie) you can hear Marie voice on songs like "No way No how" from the " Fresh in Effect" album , Love Changes (Skip Scaborough writer) a cover from the 70's , a duet with Sugar Ray on get down to the business and various other songs on the three albums from Fresh . Recently she came back to perform on the love and apocalypse Album on the song Last Chance.
Che'le
Background Vocalist Recording ArtistChel'le is the third member of the group she join at the ripe old age of 16 she had no previous experience singing in groups before ,so she was very fresh but she loved music and had an extensive music collection, and love the groups of her age the new edition & TLC, according to her mother she always sung with her every chance she could get wheather in the car, or going places ,or at home she is the daughter of M & M she also collaborated lyrical writing on several compositions with Sugar Ray in the group fresh ,she also sung lead on several songs including the albums " Fresh Tya "and Fresh Reality (Legacy). Her voice can be heard in the lead vocal position on Stone lover in which (she co-wrote with Sugar Ray) you got to work and all night all day, she also sings second vocal with Sugar Ray on songs, " If I can't be your lover " Love Tya " What's your pleasure" and "Give me all your loving" and throughout the three albums you can hear Che'le voice.
Baby Girl
Background Vocalist Recording Artist Music ProducerBaby girl was the last to join the group fresh she is the wife of Yar Charles/Sugar Ray she is also one of the Executive Producers along with her longtime boo Yar Charles/Sugar Ray of fresh, she recently had a hot single of which she sung her first lead vocal,and background vocals in the song are you serious( featuring baby girl) she has played a large role in the background in the executive producing of fresh and Yar Charles and is his biggest fan obviously. Miss Laura , her friends respectfully call her . Miss Laura has suffered through a menu of sacrifices in watching her husband pursue his musical dream, including having bands setup in her living room rehearsing music , and observing many different people invading her space/sanctuary/ house in order to get that sound together she has watched her house being invaded through seven robberies and arguments, and lots of costs from there household budget, as her husband pursued his dream which later became her mission. She is truly a soulmate in this musical endeavor.
