Years of the Canine
Super Group Years of the Canine Release 'Under Dog Nation Vo.l 1' 2016
Bronx, New York - December 30, 2016 - Take members of Ice T's Rhyme Syndicate, Musicians from Pink Floyd and Headcount, and a super producer who has worked with a lot of greats and the result is a punk rock alternative super group with a hip hop flare; Years of the Canine and Core members, vocalist Dynamax (Ice T’s Rhyme Syndicate) and Musician/Producer Dom Beken, hit it off some years back during a session for High Frequency Bandwidth's Hell Fire & Brimstone. Like-minded, artist and producer, evolved from the ground to throwing in their own inimitable contributions.
Born and raised in the South Bronx, Dynamax was inducted by Afrika Islam into Ice-T's Rhyme Syndicate as the hot prodigy (co-family member Donald D also appears on The Fun House Adventure). Dynamax is a proper manifestation of the punk-funk hip hop coalition started in the late 70's South Bronx. Dynamax is a hair-trigger rhymer, with a sweet soul melodic instinct. Dynamax was also chosen by the US Embassy to represent American music in Africa, as their Hip Hop Cultural Ambassador, and has now toured twelve African Nations. Other artists who have requested Dynamax's vocal acrobatics on their records or electronic presence on stage include Luc Besson, Chuck D, Giles Peterson, Dead Prez and Dr. Dre's Truth Hurts. Along with Donald-D, Dynamax also has P-Funk veteran Michael 'Clip" Payne on this upcoming Album.
Dom Beken has done work with legendary ambient house pioneer Dr. Alex Paterson, aka The Orb; they have worked on the acclaimed HFB debut album, which attracted the creators of PlayStation sensation Pixeljunk Shooter. Their resulting soundtrack was nominated for a BAFTA. Dom has been in-demand as a producer, writer and programmer for years, working with names including Placebo, Just Jack, The Orb, KLF, Rick Wright (Pink Floyd), David Bowie and assorted successful pop acts. He has also scored a major Bollywood movie, TV series, many advertisements and short films. As Years of the Canine took shape, Dom brought in his own associates, including Pink Floyd bassist Guy Pratt, thumbing it up in time-honored fashion on 'Wars In Love', and Malicious Damage mates Headcount (whose last album was produced by late Killing Joke bassist Paul Raven) on the hard rocking 'No Evil', 'Resurrected Angel' and 'Long Ride'.
Years of the Canine's first album Under Dog Nation Vol. 1 now available for download.
