Country Rock as it Should Be

Categorized as PopPunk? I think this recording is good country rock. Easy chord progression and traditional songwriting (what should be for country rock), big easy listening factor. Vocals clearly mixed, I can understand every word. Maybe you put a instrumental solo into the bridge before verse three, the song would be less monotone. But finally this is not a big point. What to do better? Nothing. The song is alright, good job done.

Zap + The Wires sounds kind of like The Traveling Wilbury's. Good track with real musicians playing on it, a nice change in our techno-machine music world. "Different Things" is a solid Pop Rock tune with a country -Rock feel. Good Vocals and a very danceable song you could two-step to. See if they've got a CD to purchase - it probably has some more good tunes on it!

Start the new year with Different Things

I was very happily surprised to hear this song. It's very catchy and sounds like a catchy tune. So be sure to listen and enjoy. The voice is fantastic and sticks in your ear. The mix is very well mixed and the instruments sound played with passion. So a five star recommendation from me.

I Broke Your Heart

A mix of Bruce and Glen (Eagles) - Really enjoyed the song. Every instrument is mixed perfectly. You can hear everything. I have nothing bad to say about this song. The only thing I would do( my own opinion ) is throw in a bridge to change it up. That is how I write, not everyones style. But being you are from NJ and me hanging with Bruce it seems to be an big influence on your writing. Excellent !!

partenza rock

I Feel It!

I like the sound it's original! I can feel the heart in this showing you put in some dedicated work. I like the melody and the rugged guitar and that bass line makes the sound even better and natural, very straight forward and with some hard lyrics, I can dig it!!! Sounds like the studio vibe was feeling the vibe I could sit back to this one and zone out!!!!! More artist should study the roots of their culture of art more to be better at their own art. Keep up the good work and stay in the lab creating new material to stay fresh and on your toes. Peace!

As subtle as it is, this anthem song wants to be a big hit

With ‘Different Things’ Zap & The Wires have really shown what a versatile band they are. The first cut I reviewed for them was 'Won't Let You Go,' which was a neat tribute to the psychedelic sixties. ‘Different Things’ is a whole different animal, although I can still hear the psychedelic influences in the way the secondary guitar is played an octave higher than the main riff and the way it bounces off both the percussion and keyboards. As with the first song, this number starts off with a very strong central riff and builds up to the vocal, which as before is very strong and features just a little tinge of effects at the end of some verse lines. Although the song has a great country feel, the vocal is sung like a rock song, so the composition doesn’t get pigeon-holed in one genre. The chorus is subtle, but the changes are enough to keep it interesting, and I love the playful way the last stanza is sung. For the title, I would adjust it to read ‘Different Things (Frozen in Time)’ as Frozen in time is the main lyric of the chorus; this would keep the listener firmly planted in the song. I absolutely love the rhyming scheme in the verses, which shine better because the chorus does something completely different instead of riding the coat-tails of the verse. The stronger percussion, especially with the drumming, really give the chorus the hook it needs, and in the end what we have is a potential country-rock anthem. A live version of this could put the audience into a near frenzy. Zap & The Wires, you’ve done it again!

Jersey still rocks!

What a refreshing moment when those acoustic guitars jumped out of my speakers! I smiled and turned the volume up! ‘Different Things’ is a very catchy song. The recording sounds good too. I don’t know if ‘Zap and The Wires’ are a real “band” playing together or not and I’m curious. If it’s not a band then (as an engineer) I’d be interested in the recording process here. I grew up in New Jersey, playing in bands since I was 13 years old. Great music and great musicians have always come out of Jersey. I’m happy to say this band is keeping New Jersey on the map!

Very Strong Track

Hi Folks thank you for giving me the chance to review your song "Different Things"which i found in my opinion to be a very strong track indeed and sounded at bit like Bruce Springsteen of which i am a great fan, your vocals, melody and production are very commercial and i see no reason why this track would not gain a lot of interest from Radio Stations for suitable airplay that would enhance your chances of your song getting into the Charts and earning you good royalties,Good Luck with your Promotions and please let us here more songs from you very soon.

Nice acoustic Vibe.

This song brings you a very nice acoustic vive from the really begining. Reminds me many classics, from Bob Dylan to David Bowie even. The voice registry is really interesting and feets really nicely with the music arrengments. The lead guitar does a very nice work aswell. Good Song.

Strong Beginning

Strong beginning and cute lyrics make for a great time here. Really intense beat and you always have an incredible vocal delivery. When you got it, you never lose it and you guys have it and nobody can take that magic away. Powerful from start to finish, and I love how you drawl it out towards the end. Makes for a dramatic finish.
