Just wanted to take a minute to update all of you. I recorded all my music back in mid to late 2000. I did all that because I knew I had a degrading hearing loss and wanted to have something on record before I lost my hearing. I retired from playing in 2013 because I was only hurting the band I was playing in at the time. This past year my hearing took a drastic nose dive so I set out in search of a remedy. I have just returned from OKC and have started the process of getting a cochlear implant. I don't know if I will ever play or hear again but I would settle for just hearing my wife yell at me again, lol. I still have 2 cds of music no one on N1M has ever heard before. I may put some music up for sale just to help the recovery of some of my upcoming medical expenses or I may have a "go fund me" to help as a cochlear implant is not cheap. I appreciate all the positive comments on my music it means I did not waste my life being a musician. Hope to hear again in the future, God Bless , Mark Zeyen. - Continued PART 2 UPDATE 2021
GOD IS GREAT - I COMPLETED MY COCHLEAR IMPLANT SURGERY. I heard my first words in 3 years sense going completely deaf, this past May. Nothing sounds the same as I remembered but at least I can hear some again. All the vocalists on radio all sound the same with this new simulated sound. They tell me it can take up to a year for my brain to re- program itself to hearing again. I have not played or sang in past 4 years. Only instruments that sound correct is Bass and Drums. Pretty much everything else like guitars sound like keyboards or accordion. They tell me it will take some time for re-programming. I did start trying to play guitar in church the past 4 weeks, but it is difficult and I am trying to stay positive. Pray for me. I am so thankful just to be hearing about 50 % of normal at this point and I thank the Lord for granting me that much. Until next time, that's the update I have for you. Thank you all so much. ZEYEN.
