News from Zwoekie :-)
Hi everybody!
It's been a while since my last newsletter and so much has happened, I can't even put it in this newsletter!
First of all, thanks for the emails, it's alway great to hear from you all and especially a big thank you to the folks in Alaska and Canada's Northern Territories, it's amazing how many people signed up.
Last time I was planning to move on to the trance scene and even had a guy with whom I could collaborate, but this has gone amazingly wrong.
In the end we decided to leave it and I decided to quit with the whole dance idea.
There are so many issues among producers, DJs and labels I got tired reading all the heavy discussions on Facebook.
Don't get me wrong, I really like some trance/dance songs and I even got some Facebook friends who produce trance or ambient but for me there are too many (unwritten) rules that restrict my personal musical freedom that I decided to return to my roots.
I mean (in short), you have to use the sounds that are popular now, otherwise you new track is already dated before anyone has heard it and there is so much more but that's not important.
But not all is bad, I learned a lot of cool stuff for producing. Sound effects, better sounding tracks and how to make your track sound like it came from an expensive studio. This will help me with the project I started and to get it on iTunes and CD.
I always wanted to go to Alaska and maybe I can in a few years but the Arctic is the theme for the project I am currently working on.
I'm trying to create a musical representation of all the things I know about Alaska, Northern Canada, Norway, the North Pole, etc
There are so many programs on Discovery nowadays about this topic, from Iceroad Truckers to people living near the Yukon river and the beautiful landscape of the Northern part of our earth.
There are many people who subscribed to this newsletter who live in Canada and Alaska.
I always try to look you up with google earth so I know where my music finds its way.
Places like Manitoba, Inuvik, Nunavut, Anchorage, Yellowknife, Yukon, etc really gave me inspiration for this project.
My great example will of course be Vangelis' Antarctica album, check it out if you haven't heard it.
There's enough to find on YouTube, I'd like to create something like that but with modern day beats but the vibe has to be the same. I hope to get in touch with you soon.
So my musical friends, that's it for now.
I wish you good luck and stay healthy.
As always, I really appreciate your support, thank you.
